The Islamic concept of eating ‘1/3 for your food, 1/3 for your liquids, and 1/3 for your breath’ match very closely to the Japanese healthy eating ‘Hara Hachi Bu’ concept, which means eat until you are only 80% full.

3:-One should eat slowly as our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to eat slowly. Slow eating will help us eat less food and improve our digestion process that science proved later.

Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) always advised us to eat together as a family. There is a hadith related to eating together which stated: “Eat together and not separately, for the blessing is associated with the company.” (Ibn Majah)

5:- Science has proved that when a person drinks too much water in a short period of time they can experience headaches, an imbalance in blood electrolyte levels and sometimes dizziness too. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) told us to drink water in two or three breaths, not in one breath.

6:-Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to eat Pomegranates and today science proved that pomegranates are the healthiest fruits on earth.it is also called the fruit of Jannah (Paradise)

7:- Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to fast not just in Ramadan, and also on the 13th, 14th and 15th of each month. Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) told Muslims to fast during Ramadan. Today the Japanese scientists declared fasting in Ramadan is highly healthy and helps the body fight cancer cells.

8:- Muslims breaks their fast with dates. They stabilize the blood sugar level, electrolyte levels and rebalance blood in our body. Science proved that dates can boost Oxycontin production in the body and speed up labour.

9:- Prayer itself is a form of exercise that requires movement of our body’s muscles and joints. Good health is necessary if you intend to fast or participate in Hajj. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) strongly encouraged physical exercise and told parents to encourage physical activity in their children too. Science tells us to do exercise daily to keep our heart and brain healthy.

Actions with the Same Reward as Hajj and Umrah

Actions that are equal to Hajj and Umrah [in terms of rewards]

There are several righteous deeds that are equal in reward to Hajj and Umrah. Some of these deeds are:

1. Dhikr after the five daily prayers

A group of poverty-stricken people came to the Prophet(SAW) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, the wealthy people will have higher grades and will have permanent enjoyment in high levels in Paradise. They pray like us and fast as we do, but they have more money by which they perform the Hajj, ‘Umrah, participate in the honorable battle and give in charity.” The Prophet(SAW) replied, “Shall I not tell you something upon which if you acted you would catch up with those who have surpassed you? Nobody would surpass you and you would be better than the people amongst whom you live except those who would do the same. Say ‘Subhan Allah’, ‘Alhamdulillah’ and ‘Allahu Akbar’ thirty-three times each after every (compulsory) prayer.’” Reported by Al-Bukhari.
This means that dhikr (words of remembrance) after each prayer equals Hajj and ‘Umrah for Muslims.

2. Praying the ‘Isha and Fajr prayers in congregation

In a similar report to the above, the Prophet answered with another response. He said, “Has Allah not rendered for you the ‘Isha prayer in congregation equal to Hajj, and the Fajr prayer in congregation equal to ‘Umrah?”

3. Praying the Fajr prayer in congregation and staying in the mosque until sunrise to perform the Duha prayer

The Prophet(SAW) said, “Whoever prays the Fajr in a congregation, then sits remembering Allah (dhikr) until the sun rises, then prays two units, he will receive the rewards of a complete Hajj and ‘Umrah – he repeated that thrice.” Reported by Al-Tirmidhi.
4. Attending the congregational prayers at the mosque, and walking to the mosque to perform voluntary prayers
The Prophet(SAW) said, “Whoever walks to complete an obligatory prayer in congregation, it is like Hajj [in terms of rewards], and whoever walks to complete a voluntary prayer, it is like a voluntary ‘Umrah [in terms of rewards].” Walking to the mosque to complete sunnah prayers such as the Duha prayer as mentioned in the version of Abu Dawud.
5. Offering prayers in Quba Mosque
The Prophet(SAW) said, “He who purifies himself at his home and comes to Masjid Quba and prays therein will have the reward like that of 'Umrah'”.
‘A’ishah bint Sa‘d ibn Abi Waqqas said, “I heard my father saying, ‘It is dearer to me to pray two units in Quba’ Mosque than visiting Masjid Al-Aqsa twice. If people only knew the virtues of praying in the Quba Mosque, they would fight over it.”
